Lutheran Youth WNY Cooking in Community
Cooking in Community
Cooking in Community is a BRAND NEW program that we are offering to our youth and their families! We have church programs for our older people, and we have great programs for the younger people, but there doesn't seem t be a lot of programs out there dedicated to bridging this gap. We need more programs in Western New York that bring our younger and older generations together in ways that benefit all age groups.
Cooking in Community is a way to use cooking classes, shared meals, and intergenerational devotional practices to bring together youth and their parents. Join us every 3rd Wednesday of the month from 5pm to 8pm at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lancaster. Here we will gather to learn different cooking skills, prepare a dish, and serve the completed meal to parents and family members. While we eat we will share in a devotional, that encourages all age groups to get comfortable talking about their faith with people across generations.
