Camperships

"Camperships" are available for anyone in need. Please contact Pastor Scott @ pastorscott@sjlcamherst.com to request additional help. All requests are confidential.

  • What is the process for Check-in & Check-out?
Drop-off consists only of signing your child in and checking in with the staff with any questions or additional information. Please bring a photo ID to pick up. Only authorized individuals are allowed to pick up, which includes those listed as parents or emergency contacts. If you would like to authorize any additional adults to pick up your child from camp, please provide those names to staff leadership at check-in.
  • Are drop-off and pick-up times flexible?
No. Children cannot be dropped off early or picked up late. Families will be assessed a charge to cover staffing costs when children are picked up late.
  • What should my Camper bring to Day Camp?
Apply sunscreen before arriving. Bring your lunch, a water bottle, and a great attitude! On chilly days, pack a hoodie; on rainy days, bring a raincoat. If special gear is needed for an activity (bathing suits, towels, change of clothes, etc.), details will be included in the welcome packet. Most importantly, come ready to have fun!
  • What is a typical day of camp like?
Each day will include a variety of activities, crafts, and games. We will break for snacks in the morning and afternoon and make time for lunch midday. The daily schedule creates opportunities for rest, renewal, fun, and growth. Our trained staff will be focused on engagement, teamwork, friendship, and safety.
  • How do meals work?
Lunch will be provided ONE day each week. On other days, children should bring a bagged lunch. Morning and afternoon snacks will be provided daily. Camp staff and volunteers will carefully consider any/all allergies. Please communicate those on the registration form.
