About the event
This event is a friendly flag football tournament that helps donate turkeys and other food items to program such as Turkeys of Troops," which provides for local military families as well as the local community. The theme of the event is “Faith through Service,” Youth will have the chance to participate in small acts of service for each other, the church, and the local community. They will also participate in a worship about what it means to serve. The event is designed for 7-12th graders.
Inside we will have space for fellowship and food. An array of tasty tailgate dips and Bills-themed Pennant crafts (donated by Oxford Pennant) will be available. In our parking lot/lawn, (or indoors weather dependent), we will have tailgate games like Kan Jam, Corn hole, and Washers. Intermittent flag football games will take place on Howe Field, right next door.
The signup fee varies:
- The cost for individual players will be $5 per player and/or a donation of non-perishable food for All Saints Food Pantry. These players can request to be with other individual players and will be "Free agent" signings to an appropriately matched team.
- The cost for team sign-ups (minimum of 5, maximum of 9 members per team), is a Turkey + Donation and/or non-perishable donation. Each player on a team should still be registered individually.
- Along with the signup fees, LY will accept all generous donations to further support the cause.
Lutheran Youth WNY is a fully inclusive community; we strongly encourage any youth grades 7-12 to participate, regardless of gender, religious affiliation, or skill-level.
The deadline for signups will be November 17th, 2023, at 4:00 pm; The winning team will receive a trophy. Together, we will all enjoy each other's fellowship, fun, and a sense of service.
